....well it was new to me :lol::lol:
The real reason they have not been released yet is likely because police spikes will not work with them  http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v14/Torquemonster/Emoticons%20and%20gifs/wanker-1.gif

The main practical use I can think of would be for military use...

If you had those in an off road application they would get plugged up with mud and not balance any more. Note sure I would want them for any application...

True. They would have to add some sort of thin sidewall to keep shit out, but then whats the point?
Aside from that, they arent near thick enough to flex for good traction on a launch or if you were pulling anything, much less would they yield good cornering results as they have no sidewall flex.

There are versions with sidewalls. I think the open versions are for demonstration so people can see that they are not pneumatic.

What are you basing this off of? I seem to remember that tests showed the tweel to our perform pneumatic tires. There absolutely is sidewall flex and because of the nature of the tweel, it is far more consistant and controlled than what you have on your car now.

ok, I'm convinced!
I'll order 4 tweels, 5 twinkies, and a twixie chick in a cellulite wrapper....
don't supersize that, and no twies neither
