I am sure this is a shot in the dark, but are there any pinball collectors on here?

I have yet to buy a machine, but I cannot get enough of these damn things.

I'm only 31, but back in the day, when i was a kid, it seems i could find at least one or two pinball machines in every arcade. These days, however, pinball machines seem to be more scarce. What's the deal?

There is a little dive bar in Houston, "Poison Girl" that has 7 machines lined up. It's nice to grab a brew and drop some quarters now and then.

Anyways, back to my original question: anybody have a machine? What do you have?

I collect arcade games, but never got into pinball. I have been selling off my arcade the last couple weeks since I am moving to TX. I am down to about 10 games, but I will keep most of these. I will probably get a couple Pinballs to round out my collection.

Where in TX are you moving? You going to join the contingent of San Antonians? It's nice down here.

Dallas area. It's closer to my dad and more centrally located for business purposes.

I don't have any machines but I grew up playing on them all the time and loved them. Our local convenience stores used to have at least one machine.

I'd love to have a classic pinball game in my game room. Aren't they expensive and troublesome to maintain?

Smooth Roc, I'm originally from the DFW area...where you looking to be at?

I am not sure about maintenance, but I'd be willing to deal with a little quirkiness of a machine and learn to repair it anyways.

Yea, I used to go to this small arcade in a strip mall and play the shit out of some Guns N Roses pinball...dropped so much quarters in that machine.

There is an Arcade Expo in Houston in a fewe weeks. Supposed to have alot of pinball machines there. Drop $25 at the door, and play all day...there are tournaments as well.

Mark, I have an uncle who is a Chiropractor and he and his family live in Flowermound. Its in the NW part of town, but easy access to everything. Plus, Texas Motor Speedway is less than 10 minutes from his place. The nighttime IRL races are MONEY...

Anywho, dont leave out Flowermound and Lewisville. Lots of people from those areas are downgrading, and you may be able to capitolize.

That's a nice area. And if you like high school footbal, Southlake Carrol (same area) has a bad ass team every year (near that area). never heard of Frisco though

heheh, Trophy Club sounds like a strip joint too. Looks good on the address.:yep:

I heard Frisco is a really nice town, but it may be a little too snobby for me. A lot of tight asses there. We'll see.

Trophy club is a VERY small gold course community.

That is one of the reasons I am going there. You can actually get a really nice house for the money. IT's anywhere from 50-75% less than Cali, at least before the bottom dropped. :yep:

I visited San Jose back in '01 to buy a '69 428 Mach1 mustang. The seller's house was a $2.7 million house. It was decent...but that same house in Houston would be like $200-300k...no chit.

I was like "You have any idea the setup you could buy in Houston for $2.7 mil??!?!:yikes:

Exactly. Hell, for 2/3 the price of my home now, I can get almost 2x the house that looks 10x better.

Well that solves one problem, though a little eye candy never hurt nobody, unless the wifey kick boxes.:leaving:
