Anybody had success powdercoating wheels?

One idea I've had was to powdercoat everything chrome/silver to white. Wheels, GasCap, etc. If it looks as good in person as it does in my head, I think it would be a killer look.

Anybody seen something like that before? Thoughts? Opinions?

A lot of guys powdercoat their wheels. I have seen everything from stock to BBS powdercoated. Usually black is the most popular color, and usually they leave a chrome lip and/or centercap. Its not uncommon at all. Alot of wheels from iforged and 360forged come painted.

There are a few guys I have seen who have done the gas cap, but usually thats black as well. Seems to be popular on red cars for the black gas cap.

Im not sure of the costs, but I wouldnt imagine it to be incredibly overwhelming.

What color is your car? Got any pics? Maybe someone can do a nice photoshop for you to give you an idea.

I've got a 97 B/W GTS. A pic of it is in the "Post some Pics" thread.

I'm a pretty accomplished PhotoShop guy, but doing white wheels and maintaining detail to make it look good is hard as hell.

It's just an idea at this point. The wheels are in good shape, but certainly not "new" and it was either get them refinished to original stock look or do something different.

Or , I might just leave it alone and sell it when the market comes back around. I want a bumble-bee GTS or a Factory Five GTM to play with possibly.

You could probably buy a set of the white wheels from a 96 RT/10 for cheaper than you could powdercoat your own... Just a thought.
