View Full Version : Broken Power steering pump bracket

Pulled out of the garage and started taking off normally. Suddenly I get a BANG and power steering is gone.

Turned her around and back into the garage. Serpentine belt is thrown and power steering pump is laying sideways.


Just bought the Florida place so it's not the best time to drop some coin on the ride but oh well, that's how my luck goes these days.:cursin:

You should be able to replace it yourself for cheap... Sucks though man... On the bright side, you are making more power at the wheels for the time being... :rofl:

Roe Racing has this Billet bracket/ Metal Pulley set you might wanna upgrade to as well.

I saw that. They do look great but he's very proud of them too. :D

Cost is a factor for me right now.

The power steering bracket off a late model 5.3L grand cherokee is identical, cheap, and easy to come by.

Yes, but they are probably cast too. And if they are they will break like the stock one did. Get the steel or billet replacement piece, especially if you are running a supercharger with increased tension on the belt. :thumbs:
