I drove the Viper like I stole it home today OMG!!! what a beast. I will have a lot of questions in the next week so be patient I am a newbie.
Question #1
After driving your Viper does your feet and legs tingle?
Question #2
What speed and RPM should you be at 65 MPH
Question #3
This is the bad one. Should you here a clunking sound coming from the rear when shifting?:scared:
Question #4 The dealer offered a extended warranty should I buy this? It under the factory warranty (power train) until 2011.
Question #5 More questions too come:nana:

Thanks Shawn

How much do they want for the warranty..............Are you going to mod?

I don't pay for extra warranty coverage on any of my purchases, never seems like a good deal to the consumer.

Is the problem on upshift or down shift?

Try not letting the revs go low when you shift, the viper has a very torquey motor so keep the revs higher and see if you still notice the problem,

If it is on downshift, keep a foot on the brake and then downshift, remember brakes are for stopping, clutch is for shifting not braking

Clunking when upshifting with low rpm. I will try again tomorrow.

These cars seem to clunk quite a bit when at low rpms. The motor just wants to go and when you let the rpms drop too much it tends to buck a little.

What else is there to do? Did you know that the protein shake ones are the smelliest? I drank one after I worked out earlier and I'm ripping them as we speak.

Protein shakes are overrated. Just eat some pork or chicken dumplings.

You can buy the warranty from any dealer. I suggest shopping the price around as these guys are all cut-throat today.

I'm looking into the extended warranty today. They wanted to sell me a rim (wheel) warranty. What do you guys think? they say it covers road rash?

I would say no to that as you are probably going to put aftermarket wheels on it anyway

Unless you drive like you're in a bumper car, I wouldn't bother.

On the other hand, if you're fussy and drive it a lot, and don't mind fighting an insurance company/paying deductables over every little scratch on the wheels...

Ummm, wouldn't the insurance cover aftermarket wheels as well?

I would think so. Never thought about claiming something like that on my insurance. Im not going to let a small claim like that (that was probably driver error anyway) raise my rates!

Forget the "wheel warranty" bullshit. Dealers are getting involved in all sorts of dumb extra shit to bill out and make no mistake, it is designed to put money in their pocket and not yours. The added warranty on the car through Dodge is a no brainer. Not only is it transferrable upon sale of the vehicle, it is also able to be sold back to Dodge and refunded at a pro-rated amount should the need arise. Like I said call around several dealers and if I was you, my last call would be to Chuck Tator. He will probably give you the best numbers on the max care anyway. Again, enjoy the mamba and welcome to the site.
