View Full Version : What fluid do I need to get for T-56?

Going to change trans fluid. What do I need for Gen II and how much does it hold?

I don't want to get high speed and put anything thinner or smoother in there, just factory spec. And are there any additives that are supposed to go in?

GM Synchromesh at any GM dealer....4 quarts......no other additives.

How hard is it to replace the tranny fluid - do you have to have a lift?

Either a lift or some TALL jackstands. Like any other car, you just have to get under it with a little room to work.:thumbs:
