How much are the insurance rates for the Gen II Viper - assuming it will be driven mainly in the summer and will be accruing let's say about 3,000 miles a year. I'm almost 40 and I pay about roughly $540 with a $1000 deductible on the Vette every 6 months. This includes a discount on my other vehicles and a house.

You have a couple of options. You can either go with the traditional insurance companies and they will cover you at book value in case of an accident or you can go with a stated value insurance. Stated value insurance will base your rates on what you claim is the stated value of your car. However, in a stated value policy there are generally some sort of requirements that must be followed.

I went with Grundy Worldwide. They are a stated value company and are, upon what I have found in my research, the company with the least requirments. They mainly state that the car must be kept in a garage and not driven for errands. I believe there are a couple other things as well. The main point is there are no mileage restrictions like many other stated value insurance companies. You have to have good credit to qualify and I paid $705 this year based on a $41,000 stated value. I am 27 and have a clean driving history and good credit. The traditional companies wanted to charge me in excess of $300 per month. I know some of the guys over 40 are getting much better rates.

Best of luck in your search!

Check with your agent on getting a "Show car policy". You will need to ask because they probably won't offer it to you. My are that I drive under 4000 miles per year and have a legitimate appraisal.

I am now paying the same price for three modified Vipers as I was previously paying for just one car.
There isn't a problem for blowers, turbos etc. either.

I am currently with Cincinnatti(sp?) Ins. Several friends also have this type of coverage with other companies.

Definitely worth checking into...:yep:

If your driving record is clean. Then you will pay the same amount..

Jason be careful with Allstate. Read every word of your policy. I do some work for Allstate and have seen first hand how they handle claims. Although I'm appreciative of the work I get, I have been appalled at times with how they use technicalities to keep from paying people.

Never heard of them - which begs the question and no offense - are they one of the bargain insurance that you can get but when push comes to shove -they disappear?
