Evo8 vs Viper GTS - Battle of the Tims

A friendly race between me and my friend Tim.
We both just got done tuning and wanted to see how the cars are running. Plus, with a nice night out, we were just itching to get the first race of the year in.
Tim has a Evo8 with FP green turbo, cams, intake, exhaust, and other bolt-ons. He switched over to E85 and was tuned to 25+psi. He dyno'd 408whp/405wtq on E85 winter blend.

I have a 97 GTS with Roe S/C @ 6psi boost, VEC3, water/meth injection, Borla headers and catless dual 3"exhaust, smooth tubes and K&N for intake, 1.7 roller rockers, and 3.55 gears in the diff. I was tuning for the 6.5# pulley and the w/m injection. I dyno'd that day at about 580rwhp with high 10 AFRs. I expect another 20hp with leaner AFRs and advanced timing.

We tried a couple standing starts but it was 30deg out and I just couldn't get traction (and I'm not so good at launching this car http://www.racevideoforums.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif).
The races were from various speeds from 20-50mph.

Cool video! You are definently having traction problems. Looks like you guys were having a great time though. Why are you not running a 10lb pulley? Your 97 would have forged pistons.

its a long story but I have cast pistons in my motor because a warranty rebuild on the motor in 00 :rolleyes:

It is a full build with everything you can put on it including dual nitrous jets the size of a fire hoses.
