Hi everyone. I am a long time car enthusiast and have owned fast/fun cars. I had a 2000 Camaro SS that ran high tens N/A that was my everyday driver, and I currently drive a Charger SRT8 that runs mid 12's with a couple bolt ons.
Yesterday I was at a car club meet that was held at a Dodge dealership, and there was a beautiful Viper in the showroom. It was a silver '02 with 16,000 miles!! I offered them $39,000 for it and they said they wanted closer to $45,000. I walked away with the hopes of getting a call back. Anyway, can someone tell me if my price is in the ballpark, or is it really lowball? I may go up to 42K, but probably not beyond that.
Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks.

sounds high. I bought mine from an idividual, not a dealership, but that was 8 months ago and paid less than you offered. Not to mention mine is an 04 and only had 5k miles on it.

The 02 grey cars are one of the most valuable cars. Everyone loves that color and it has ABS. If it was a GTS then 42k with as many miles as that car has is about right but 45k would not be that bad of a deal. If it is an RT/10 then 39k is about right but 42k is not that bad. Cars with stripes tend t be a little more valuable but some people will argue with that. You are only talking a couple of grand difference so its up to you if the car is worth it to you. That is one of my favorite colors so if the car is in great shape and had been inspected and was clean, I would pay 45k for a grey GTS with stripes.

It is an RT/10 without stripes. It is extremely clean, both the interior and exterior. I haven't driven it yet, but my guess is it's probably very clean mechanically too. This owner definately took care of this car.
Oh, and it has the removeable hardtop, if that increases or decreases the value?
Thanks for your feedback.

Black.
I really hope they make a go of this.
I found another Viper online. A convertible 06 with 3,000 miles listed for $51,000. Figure 47-48 after negotiations.
I appreciate your help. I hope to be able to officially join this group soon :yep:

Ok. I heard back on my offer. They countered VERY close to my offer, so I think I can make it work if I want. Is there enough diff between the 02's and 03's to look for an 03? I love the grey color of this 02, but I'm reading of significant chasis improvments, as well as power gains on the 03's...

Get the 02
Do you base that on the body style, reliability, ??. Being so new to this I'd really like to know why. I do have a great oppurtunity on this 02 but I really don't want to make a mistake. Thanks.
