I think with all of our careers, we have one job that we've done that stands out in our minds as something we're were very proud to be a part of. Being invited to work on this project would have to be at the top of my list.
Every once in a while, Meguiar's will do a special project car. So far, I've had the opportunity to be involved in quite a few of them, this was one of them. I got the call about 1 week before I had to be there, and had to scramble to make it all work with my schedule. I already had customers lined up myself, and had to make arrangements to make this happen. Every single customer bent over backwards to make sure I had the free time to take care of this, I guess everyone is a Batman fan, right? Once Iwas able to make my schedule work, Meguiar's took care of me, and flew me out to California.
This project took 3 full days to complete with 2 and sometimes 3 people working on it. All in all, I'd say we have a little over 100 man hours into this car. Quite a bit over the normal, but this isn't a normal car.
From what I was told by the owner Nate Truman(decendand of Harry S. Truman, and an actor himself), this is not a replica. This is one of the few remaining original Batmobiles from the 60's TV series.
