I once read on my fishing forum somewhere that there was going to be a true Anything Goes section. You read that right, a true and real AG. I threw the maximum donation at that concept immediately and recruited my ass off to get others over to that board.

Then, all of a sudden, there was the dreadful forum killer known as a husband and wife team. They began the inevitable killing off of that forum just as suspected. It is terrible when you see that happen, as it is just impossible to be politically correct and tell them that the AG section is what it is. If they don't like it, then they need to move on, use the ignore feature, or simply chose which threads to open more wisely.

It is a widely known concept that when a wife is on a forum, that she is fair game and that cracks she makes are able to be thrown right back at her, but this couple thinks things only go one direction. This couple even taunt others on the board and talk a ton of shit to other members, instigate things through PMs, and then display passive aggressive behavior and tell concerned people to continue bringing it on, but then go public that their feelings have been deeply hurt.

The fishing forum I speak of is a great one, and one that I thought would be run as advertised. I am afraid that the people who draw posts in and have interesting things to say are in the midst of being driven away from the fishing forum due to the direction it has taken lately.

Can any of you offer any suggestions on how I might relay this over to the moderators of the fishing forum?

I have heard of this forum you speak of and I was unaware anyone was being driven away. You seem to be the first to complain.

I'm 100% certain that nothing advertised has been changed in any way. Most changes that have taken place were at the request of members. If you don't believe me, just ask around about any specific change, and see where and from whom that idea came.

The forum you speak of has been more than eager to cater to each and every member to it's best ability all the while carrying with it a no bullshit stance as far as fairness goes. Point out specifically where they have been unfair and I'm certain they will work with you.

They are failing to realize that forums like the fishing forum are built on guys that like to say they caught the bigger fish, and if challenged, well it is a fight until one of them end up in the lake. That is the beauty of that forum. Now that Johnny has brought his dumb ass bride on the boat with him, we are all supposed to act civilized and if we want to talk smack to each other, we have to wait until her dumb ass is back off of the boat. In the beginning, we didn't have to do that. We could simply state that Billy doesn't fish that deep and has a tiny lure and so forth, but now he is being forced to post a ridiculous amount of crap in order to please the old bag and lately we are in high hopes that their boat will run out of gas and just not come back. I can't see my buddies hanging around and putting up with a huge change in moderation just to satisfy this dumb scallywag. I think we are all holding out for a few days to see if the fishing forum wises up and lets us throw all of our best shots back in the water.

You clearly have no idea behind the matter or who suggested it (forum split) again to the point where we went ahead with it. Aside from that, though, no one is holding a gun to your head to keep you or anyone else here. And, please, don't flatter yourself thinking you are the only prize keeping this from becoming speed alley. :lol:

As far as pleasing everyone, I dont set out to accomplish that. Do we do things to keep everyone happy and appeal to certain folks? Sure, but we don't change the rules mid-game. You seem to be the only disgruntled rabbit in the hole. There's always the Alley if you object to how things roll around here. Not a rule has been bent or changed thus far and I have plenty folks to back me up on that.
