This is not a thread to describe who you wish you were. I personally do not wish I were anyone but myself. Life has experiences, good and bad, and I chalk them all up to where I am at this given moment.

1. My step-Dad, who raised me as his own since I was 3 years old. (I love ya Dad).

2. My mom, who has always had my back no matter how stupid or crazy I acted.

3. My wife, whom I have learned so much from over the last 14 years (she's way smarter than I am).

4. My kids, who can be WAY smarter than their years if you just listen to them.

5. Uncle Sugar (US Army), for forcing me to grow up and giving me the opportunity to see the world (both the good and the bad).

Great influences in my life...

In order of appearance (more or less):

1. My family - the good, the bad, the ugly. For all our dysfunction, these are the ties I hope will last the length of eternity. Especially my daddy. Miss you "old man".

2. My teachers - I got some really good ones! I am eternally grateful for excellent teachers, especially in math and English. My friends have been excellent "teachers" as well...real keepers!

3. My daughter - she taught me I was NOT the center of the universe, as I had always imagined. My deepest gratitude to God for her!

4. My Monster - not a day goes by that I don't give thanks in my heart for all that we are. Darling, you continue to amaze me...day after glorious day!

5. My creator - last, but not least...the very reason I breathe! With utmost thanks I give Him honor and glory. Sometimes I really struggle but You know I'll "get it" eventually... :haha:

My dad for always making me see the positive.

The Navy for forcing me to get my shit together long before I had planned on doing so.

My wife for supporting me through some bad times in my life and dealing with the stresses of my career.

All my brother firefighters that get the job done everyday.
