Thinking of upgrading to a cross drilled rotor.I see where they come in black or gold colored. Was wondering if the gold would wear off after a while. Anyone have the gold looking rotors?? I have found 4 rotors for 200.00. This seems cheap to me. Is there a fast difference in the rotors as far as price and quality go?

I have EBC slotted and dimpled rotors with SRT calipers. Great combo.

I'm not sure which brand comes in black and gold.

Don't buy the Ebay type rotors, they are "cheap" for a reason and you don't want to find that out on a Viper...

First thing, I wouldn't ever put drilled rotors on my car unless they were from a big name company who designed them that way. Just drilling holes in a one piece rotor is asking for super failure.

The best thing you can do is keep running stock rotors, put some good track pads in it, and bleed the brakes with good fluid.

Look at most of the track rats and what they run, those guys cycle through stock rotors over and over.

In regard to the gold, what is used to to color them? Obviously it will wear off the rotor surface almost instantly. Honestly, the best thing performance wise is no coatings at all.

Think about this, you want to drill/slot them, then insulate the rotor so it retains more heat. Bit odd don't you think?

Brembo, BAER, Alcon, And AP all make quality stuff. I would avoid the lower end single piece brembo and bear rotors as they aren't all that great.

What's the scoop on those euro tech rotors? I think bushido has them. Maybe PM him.

ONE thing I would like to improve is the brake dust. It gets all over the front wheels even after one drive. Is it because the stock pads do this?? What brand could I go to to stop some of the dust??

Hey Red,
Are those SRT calipers pretty much remove and replace for Gen 2 Vipers? How much improvement are they from stock Gen 2 ones. Thanks!

Those $200 rotors for 4 or $200 each? Gotta be careful with the cross drilled ones especially ebay ones, they have been known to have microfractures or stress cracks over time.

Euroteck 14inch rotors are made by Giro Disc so it might be a little bit cheaper to buy them directly over there instead..
