Got my Forgeline VR1s back from calchrome.com today, and I must say they are perfect...............
Blaine there helped me through the process. Very good customer service along the way, and an AWESOME chroming job. Definately recommended.
Some might remember I was agonizing over black chrome or chrome. I went with the regular copper/chroming process and Im glad I did....I didnt want to make the wrong decision since these are 1 piece 20 pound each rims Forgeline made a one time limited production run of.
How long until spring??????????????? :
Oh ya, I also have 2 Hoosier drag radials 335/35/18. They are used but still have alot of life left in them. They were on the VR1s when I bought them and the guy I bought them off of won't come get them. 150.00 for both. Pics if wanted
Heres a link of a local car board Im a member of. I couldnt post pics here for some reason, but there are some in here....

How much do they weigh now?
Probably less than an ounce more than they did before chroming.

What did Cal CHrome charge you to do the chrome job?

my guess is between 150-200 each wheel. That is what they normally run. Provided there is no curbing damage requiring repairs prior to finishing. Am I close Lyle?

I have 2 sets of VR1's and they are soft as hell, you can't help but scratch them every time you clean them, Chroming would be a nice option, it would keep them shiny and give a nice hard shell to protect the aluminum.

Josh,
Close...The rims had bad clearcoat scratches, but were in overall good shape with no curbing on any of them. They will fix minor denting, and deep scrathes free. The fronts were 175.00 each, and the rears were 200.00 each. Shipping there with insurance was 200.00 and shipping back with insurance was 170.00.
I opted for the chrome with no clearcoating since they will never see salt and I always clean the brake dust after the rims have cooled. The clearcoat seems to scratch more easily, and actually starts coming off in places after a dismount/mount of a tire. The clear is expensive too, like 200 a wheel if I remember correctly. But definately needed if driven in snow/salt. Customer service again, was very helpful and talked me through the options and gave good advice.

Those rims look pretty sweet. Although I am fond of my HRE's those would a great second choice.:D

You will definately be happy if you get one of the sets chromed, they won't scratch as easily anymore...........And the look compared to polished is unbelievable. The pictures don't do them any justice. Well worth a grand.

Thanks, I too like HRE rims (ones without rivets), but I got these so cheap I couldnt pass them up. I have less than 2K in them.
