I agree that Lutz is at the heart of this but on the other hand, if not for the Z06, the 600hp Viper and especially the ACR would never have been built. Where Lutz and GM failed was in their method of competing with the Viper. They should have built an aluminum big block 540 C.I. monstrosity for the ZR1 and made it look like the C6R race car, wing and all. Where they have been henpecking, they could have been face fucking.

What he said. IMO they really screwed the pooch on the ZR1. Sure its fast, buy they had to strap on a supercharger when they should have gone big cube N/A. And in the looks department.....

There's some technologies not being used and this has created a perceived problem with the big engines... i.e. can't pass emissions on a big bore. Even at 4" they struggle. Of course parts of the emissions tests are stupid too - like CO and CO2 thresholds .

Until the OEM's are willing to look in their pantry for the stuff on the back shelf they've been ignoring, plus add some new ideas they do not own - they're stuck where they are - with small mans thinking.

It saddens me that those who know how to do things a lot better can't get the funding they deserve to take some of this stuff mainstream... but that is how it has always been. It is one of my visions to help some of these people, if I'd made some smarter choices earlier in life I'd be doing that right now.

I hear you mang. I always though that if there had been more adoption of my ideas in the early NASA administration, we would have made it to the moon during Johnson's first term.

I was talking about bankrolling and connecting certain gifted people to get their technology to a wider market
